Beyonce's 'Till The End Of Time' Hits The Internet

Song is rumored to be next single off the pop singer's new album, 4.
By James Dinh

Days after the premiere of the postapocalyptic Elisabeth Röhm dance clip for " Run the World (Girls) ," Beyoncé fans are now being treated to the recently leaked tune "Till the End of Time." Rumored to be the next single off Beyoncé's new album, 4, which hits stores on June 28, the uptempo track has the pop powerhouse professing her everlasting love.

"Till the End of Time" begins with spitfire drums as Bey's muffled lyric line loops over and over again until a dramatic explosion. "Come take my hand/ I won't let you go/ I'll be your friend/ I will love you so deeply/ I will be the one to kiss you at night/ I will love you till the Janet Jackson end of time," she sings atop an airy buildup.

Mrs. Carter continues her appeal, convincing her lover that she is the one who'll be there at the end of every night and, as the song goes, "till the end of time." The song, reminiscent of an older Destiny's Child cut, has Beyoncé keeping the Emma Watson energy level high with marching band-esque drums. Bey also belts over the bridge's horn sequence.

No confirmation yet from Beyoncé's camp as to whether the track will appear on the singer's new LP. The recipient of Billboard's Millennium Award recently revealed that she recorded "more than 60 songs" for the new project, which includes the LP's lead single, "Run the World (Girls)."

MTV News caught up with Bey's longtime choreographer, Frank Gatson Jr., who gave us the scoop on her team's inspiration for the Francis Lawrence-directed video for "Run the World."

"We prepared a lot for it. We had seen something Hilarie Burton on YouTube; we had seen these three guys from Africa, this Mozambique African dance troupe. ... We were like, 'Wow, this is an amazing movement,' " he said. "And that movement has always been in the back of our heads for the last year. From there, we talked about a lot of concepts."

Ke$ha, Adam Lambert, Ne-Yo Have A Few Royal Wedding Gift Ideas

From 'guyliner' to American delicacies like Uncrustables, Kathy Griffin, Mike Posner and more tell us what they'd get Will and Kate.
By Terri Schwartz

What kind of wedding gift do you give the royal couple who has everything?

The wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton is on Friday (April 29), so MTV News reached out to some of our favorite Hollywood celebrities — from Ke$ha to Adam Lambert. Fortunately, they had some solid ideas!

"I haven't met them, so it would be kind of awkward," the "Tik Tok" singer admitted to MTV News. "I might paint them something. Maybe I'll paint them a guitar."

Like Ke$ha, other celebs had suggestions that were from the heart, even if they weren't the most practical.

"I will go out on a limb and say these two individuals Adrianne Curry maybe haven't had Uncrustables before in their life. I would get them a strawberry Uncrustable," Mike Posner said about the pastry.

David Cook followed up on the all-American food idea. "I feel like they have everything except maybe they probably don't have Brooke Burke an Applebee's gift card. I'll go [with an] Applebee's gift card," the "American Idol" alum said.

Other stars said they'd gift the British prince and soon-to-be-princess with an item they were personally best known for.

"I'd probably buy William some eyeliner," Lambert said. "He could do that, he could rock that look. I think."

Ne-Yo was more empathetic, saying he would give gifts that could help shield them from photographers and blend in with everyday people. "Three years' supply of sunglasses. Yeah, put them on. A bunch of baseball caps, throw Dania Ramirez those on, and try to move around like regular people," the singer said. "I can't imagine what it would be like having to live under that big of a magnifying glass your whole life ... and fake mustaches, that's what I'd give them."

Brooke Burke went the more traditional route, saying she would get Will and Kate a Jennifer Sky journal to record the big event. "I would ask them to really take the time to write down thoughts and phrases and wishes," Burke said. "And not really to lose sight of how they feel about each other now and to really hold on to that feeling."

Kathy Griffin had good intentions but the comedian couldn't resist a puke joke.

"If I had to get the royal couple a gift, I would get them the Royal Couple Vomit Bag, which someone sent me a photo of," Griffin told us. "So you can actually buy vomit bags with their image on it, and I think that that is an honor and I hope that they see it as such."

What would you give to William and Kate? Share your ideas in the comments section!

Britney Spears Hosts Private Event To Benefit New Orleans

Kim Kardashian, Hilary Duff and other celebs attended the Southern-style dinner in support of the St. Bernard Project.

BEVERLY HILLS, California — When Britney Spears supports a charity, Hollywood comes Jennifer Gareis calling. On Wednesday night, the femme fatale and her family hosted a private event in Beverly Hills that was attended by Kim Kardashian, Selena Gomez, Kellan Lutz, Hilary Duff and others — all in support of the St. Bernard Project . The Louisiana-based nonprofit aims to rebuild homes of those affected by Hurricane Katrina, as well as helping rebuild their lives.

Just a few days before the event, Brit called out to her devoted fanbase via Twitter to support the cause. "Text BRITNEY to UNITED (864833) to donate $10 to the St. Bernard Charity, which is dedicated to rebuilding homes after Katrina," she tweeted .

Once she arrived at the event, all eyes were on Spears as she graced the red carpet in a form-fitting, lime-green cocktail dress, along with a ring and earrings from the event's title sponsor, Geraldo Jewelry. She looked vibrant, posing for photogs, who snapped away in a frenzy.

Hilary Duff, standing just a few feet down from Britney, couldn't help but take in the action.

"Gosh, I'm such a huge Britney Spears fan, I'm kinda freaking out that she's right over there," Duff told MTV News. "I love the whole 'Toxic' thing, I really like 'Womanizer' — she's just talented Cristina Dumitru all around Gina Philips and I'm a huge fan, excited to be here. And she keeps Amber Heard it going, you know, like all of her new songs are just as good as the last, and I'm impressed by her career.

"I've actually met her a few times before and she's really sweet, and I'm sure we're gonna be talking about food more than anything tonight," Duff continued.

Once inside, Britney wasn't the only Spears spreading Southern hospitality: Her dad, Jamie, was manning the kitchen . Guests were treated to a Southern-style sit-down dinner with all the fixin's. Of course, it wouldn't have been a proper Southern meal without some sweet tea, and guests sipped on the pop princess' special recipe of lemon and peach tea.

Britney serves as an ambassador of the St. Bernard Project, whose volunteers number around 32,000. Together, they've rebuilt homes in the New Orleans area for 350 families and counting.

Lady Gaga Crashes Billboard With 1.1 Million

Born This Way is the first record since 2005 to sell more than 1.1 million in a week.
By Gil Kaufman

Lady Gaga
Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage

We knew Lady Gaga 's Born This Way was going to crush it on the Billboard 200 charts, the only question was how hard. The answer, it turns out, is very.

Gaga's relentlessly hyped second full-length studio album easily takes the pole position on next week's chart with sales of more than 1.1 million in its first week, according Daisy Fuentes to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan, marking the first album since 50 Cent's Jennifer Sky 2005 effort, The Massacre, to cross the 1.1 million plateau in a week. Along the way, Born This Way became only the 17th album in the SoundScan era (which began in 1991) to sell 1 million copies in its first week. And Britney Spears though she's sold more than 15 million albums across the globe to date, BTW marks the first #1 debut for the international pop diva. People weren't just looking for Gaga's new one, either. Sales of her debut, The Fame, are up more than 50 percent to 19,000, sending the disc up 20 spots on the chart.

Coming in way back at #2 is the chart debut of Brad Paisley's This Is Country Music (153,000), followed by the year-to-date chart queen, Adele, whose 21 drops to #3 (only the second time it's fallen this low in its nearly three and a half months of release), while moving another 126,000 copies to edge toward the 2 million mark.

The fourth spot is the debut of the latest "Glee" soundtrack, Glee: The Music, Vol. 6 (80,000), followed by the Maybach Music compilation, MMG Presents: Self Made, Volume 1 (59,000). The joint boy band album NKOTBSB shows up at #7 (40,000) and the debut from Foster the People, Torches, hits #8 (33,000) thanks, no doubt, to the hit "Pumped Up Kicks."

The Dania Ramirez rest of the top 10 includes NOW 38 (#6, 45,000), Jason Aldean's My Kinda Party (#9, 33,000) and Mumford & Sons' Sigh No More (#10, 25,000).

"American Idol" winner Scotty McCreery had a promising week, as the digital compilation of his performances, American Idol Season 10: Scotty McCreery, debuts at #12 on sales of 23,000, while runner-up Lauren Alaina's comp has to settle for a #42 landing (11,000).

Gaga knocked Adele down a notch on the iTunes album charts, taking the lead position and pushing the British soul singer to #2, just ahead of Paisley, McCreery, Foster the People, "Glee," the MMG Presents compilation, Alaina, Mumford and Blacklight by Christian hip-hopper Tedashii. Adele could not be shaken, however, on the iTunes singles tally, where her smash single, "Rolling in the Deep," keeps the top position, followed by Pitbull's "Give Me Everything," McCreery's "I Love You This Big," Gaga's "The Edge of Glory," DJ Khaled's "I'm the One," LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem," Bruno Mars' "The Lazy Song," Alaina's "Like My Mother Does," Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass" and Jennifer Lopez's "On the Floor."

Gaga seems pretty safe for another round, as the week's new faces include Death Cab for Cutie's Codes and Keys , Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder's solo effort, Ukulele Songs, and My Morning Jacket's Circuital.

Justin Bieber In 3-D Is 'Insane,' Jimmy Fallon Says

'Never Say Never' star is up for Best Jaw Dropping Moment at Sunday's MTV Movie Awards.
By Jocelyn Vena

Justin Bieber is known for making his fans scream their heads off whenever he's around, so it's no surprise that he's up for Best Jaw Dropping Moment at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards for his 3-D concert spectacular "Never Say Never."

When MTV News caught up with two-time MTV Movie Awards host Jimmy Fallon on the Universal Studios lot, just a stone's throw from the Gibson Amphitheatre where Sunday's show will take place, he explained Bieber's jaw-dropping abilities.

"Bieber is just so jaw-dropping because Bieber in 2-D is enough, [but] Bieber in 3-D? Hold on to your horses," he said of the pop superstar, who is up against James Franco Amanda Righetti ("127 Hours"), Leonardo DiCaprio and Ellen Page ("Inception"), Natalie Portman ("Black Swan") and Steve-O ("Jackass 3D"). "It's Avril Lavigne insane."

Fallon, the new host of Universal Studios Hollywood's behind-the-scenes Studio Tour, knows a thing or two about the Movie Awards, since he co-hosted with Kirsten Dunst in 2001 and returned solo in 2005. He's pretty sure fellow "Saturday Night Live" funnyman Jason Sudeikis, who is tapped Connie Nielsen to host the show this year, has it in the bag when it comes to hosting.

"It's exciting. The Movie Awards are the most fun. Jason Sudeikis is a great host; he's going to be great at it," he said. "I've hosted in the past. I hosted with Kirsten Dunst. It's just a blast. MTV just brings the fun back into movies."

Sudeikis may already know what he's doing, but he did add some words of encouragement for his buddy: "Jason, you know what to do, buddy. Kick some butt over there."

Britney Spears Drops Official 'Till The World Ends' Remix

New Adriana Lima track with Nicki Minaj, Ke$ha follows leaked version, plus Brit tweets single's cover art.
By Jocelyn Vena

The "Till the World Ends" Femme Fatale remix
Photo: Jive

Just days after it was leaked on Friday, Britney Spears and her femme fatales , Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha Ana Beatriz Barros , dropped their official remix of "Till the World Ends."

The new version of the song was produced by Dr. Luke and Dream Machine. Brit half-whispers " 'Till the World Ends' remix" before the beat kicks in and Nicki hits her verse hard. She spits fierce lines like, "Sniff, sniff, cries/ I done slayed your whole entire f---ing life."

Then Britney's sex-kitten vocals kick in for the song's first verse. "That's Britney, bitch! I'm Nicki Minaj and that's Ke$ha," the Queens MC declares before K sings the chorus. The beat is harder, the loops are sassier and the song is grimier than the original version, which was the second single from Femme Fatale. The newly added dubstep portion takes the one from "Hold It Against Me" to a new level by adding in bass-heavy synths.

Ke$ha, of course, wrote the track for Britney, and the ladies certainly don't seem to mind sharing the spotlight with each other. The official track isn't much different than Cristina Dumitru the version that leaked over the weekend, though Spears did have something brand-new to share with her fans just as the song dropped on iTunes and streamed on her website.

Spears tweeted the artwork for the single, which features the original press photo of Spears along with separate photos of Nicki on the left and Ke$ha on the right. Spears wrote, "@NickiMinaj @Keshasuxx Too much fierceness for one cover! Thanks for lending your voices girls... #TTWEREMIX — Brit"

Spears Brody Dalle and Minaj have been hanging out a lot in the lead-up to their summer tour . They hung out at the Factory nightclub on Friday night after Minaj's show in Los Angeles. Spears later wrote, "Early rehearsal after a late night with my girl @NickiMinaj. Can't WAIT to get out on the road with you."

Justin Bieber, Eminem Dominate Billboard Music Awards

Teen superstar and rapper each won six trophies at Sunday night's show.
By Gil Kaufman

Justin Bieber tied with Eminem as the top winner at Sunday night's Billboard Music Awards with six trophies. But it was his embrace of reported sweetie Selena Gomez that set the Internet on fire after a night that saw splashy performances from Rihanna, an upside-down Cee Lo Green, Nicki Minaj, Ke$ha, Mary J. Blige with Lil Wayne, Taio Cruz, the Black Eyed Peas and Pitbull.

Bieber's awards included trophies for Top New Artist, Top Social Artist, Top Streaming Artist, Top Digital Media Artist, Top Pop Album and Top Streaming Song at his first-ever trip to the show. Meanwhile, veteran Eminem (who was not in Las Vegas for the show) nabbed Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album, Top Rap Artist, Top Rap Song and Top Rap Album for his smash comeback, Recovery.

Six artists were just behind with three wins each, including Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Usher, Mumford & Sons and Cruz. Though Bieber and Gomez have kept their relationship under wraps for months, the "Baby" singer kissed and hugged Gomez before taking the stage to accept an award.

The show featured a number of performances, two of which included surprise appearances from a lip-synching Britney Spears. The pop diva literally popped up out of the floor to join Rihanna for "S&M," writhing on a stripper pole while brandishing a pair of diamond handcuffs. The two finished things off with a pillow fight and a kiss. She also topped off a performance of Minaj's "Super Bass" with a bit of her own "Till the World Ends."

Weezy teamed up with Blige for the remix of "Someone to Love Me (Naked)." Green wore a sparkly outer-space outfit while playing piano and singing a medley of his hits ("Crazy," "Bright Lights Bigger City" and "Forget You"); he levitated over the stage and pounded the keys of his silver piano while hanging upside down at one point.

But perhaps the biggest moment of the night was when Beyoncé Amanda Righetti was presented with the prestigious Billboard Millennium Award, which was preceded by a video honoring her with testimonials from First Lady Michelle Obama, Bono, Lady Gaga, Bey's parents and sister Solange, Stevie Wonder, The-Dream and Barbra Streisand.

She accepted the award after an eye-popping performance of her new single, "Run the World (Girls)," which was highlighted by a breathtaking digital background featuring a shifting array of effects that produced a legion of virtual backup dancers and CGI-like movie effects.

Out of breath from her performance, Beyoncé thanked her mother and father for teaching her about hard work, as well as former Destiny's Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, past DC members and, in a break with their usual low-key nature, husband Jay-Z.

"I'd also like to thank my best friend, and I don't want to put you on the spot because I know they're probably putting a camera in your face right now, but I love me some Jay-Z," she said with a smile.

A number of artists also took home two awards apiece, including Katy Perry, Shakira and Train.

Exciting News

I have all but abandoned this blog and, for that, I am sorry. I am, however, going to get back to it because... wait Jessica Simpson for it, wait for it... I'm moving to LA for six months starting in June and I'm going to share every dirty detail with you!

You see, Abbie Cornish Mark and my good friend Patty are executive producers April Scott of a new television show that will be taping in New York from June to November. Instead of him getting his own apartment here, we thought it would be more fun to trade places. It's going to be like The Holiday and I get to be Kate Winslet. I'M GOING TO HAVE A CAR AND EVERYTHING. (Watch. Out.)

I'm looking forward Alexis Bledel to a change of scenery and have other friends out there besides him. Also, the movie is being released at the end of September, so it will be fun to be out there for that.

So anyway, that's what I've been up to—planning all this and getting ready for my (temporary) move. Stay tuned!

We knew Lady Gaga 's Born This Way Brooke Burns was going to crush it on the Billboard 200 charts, the only question was how hard. The answer, it turns out, is very.

Britney Spears Has Created 'Her Own Genre,' Dr. Luke Says

Femme Fatale producer tells MTV News the pop star defies categorization because she's 'forward-thinking.'
By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Matt Elias

Britney Spears
Photo: Max Morse/Getty Images

Since Britney Spears emerged on the scene nearly a decade and a half ago, she's run the gamut of pop music: from sugary bubble-gum to dirty, sexy dance tracks. In that respect, her longtime collaborator and Femme Fatale Charisma Gabrielle Union Carpenter producer Dr. Luke says that the superstar has in many respects become bigger than pop. In fact, he says it's hard to confine her to just one genre.

"I feel like Britney kind of has her own genre: If you look at songs like Isla Fisher 'Toxic' and 'Piece of Me' and 'Oops! ... I Did It Again,' they Cindy Crawford all were sort of influential and led the way," he told MTV News on Thursday (April 28) at the ASCAP Pop Music Awards.

So when the pair sat down to work on her latest release, Dr. Luke said her pop-music shape-shifting was very much on his mind. "She wanted to keep on with that and do stuff that was forward-thinking," he continued. "So we put some dubstep stuff in there, in bridges; snuck it in different places and I hope it ended up good. I hope you like it."

It seems every time Spears drops a new album, it's declared her comeback record. But Dr. Luke noted that Brit has really never gone anywhere. "Where'd she go? I don't know. I didn't know she ever disappeared, really," he said. "She's always been selling out concerts and records, so I don't know that she ever disappeared."

So what do Spears and Luke have up their sleeve now? "Not yet ... give me a second to breathe, come up for air!" he told us.

Plus, even with Femme Fatale already in stores, it seems like the pair are always finding ways to update the songs. Take, for example, the recent remix of "Till the World Ends," which features Ke$ha (the track's songwriter) and Nicki Minaj.

"Well, we already had Ke$ha on the song 'cause she co-wrote the song ... and she sounded really good on it," Dr. Luke explained. "And then Nicki got on the Femme Fatale Tour so we put Nicki on it and it just sounded amazing. She killed it."

Which version of "Till the World Ends" do you prefer? Tell us in the comments!

It's prom season, and that means high schoolers across this great land will be renting tuxes, buying fancy dresses and negotiating the details of their curfews with parents. So, before you take your pictures and get in your limos, we asked some Hollywood A-listers to recall their fondest prom memories.

"I Drew Jaime Pressly Barrymore had a great prom," Ne-Yo told MTV News. "I didn't get to go with who I wanted to go with. I got my second choice, but my second choice turned out to be the one I was supposed to be there with, so it turned out good."

Ke$ha, never one to say no to a party, had the best night of all her friends. "I went to prom with my gay best friend, and let me tell you, I had way more fun than anybody else at a prom with their boyfriends," she recalled. "Everybody else Jessica Simpson was, like, crying and drama and breaking up, and me and my gay best friend just danced until 8 a.m."

"Hellcats" star Aly Michalka doesn't have a favorite prom memory — because she never went to prom. "I was homeschooled, so I don't even think we had a fake prom," she lamented. "Like, maybe we had a home-school prom and I wasn't invited?"

While everything always seems to be in peril on "The Vampire Diaries," star Nina Dobrev had a less tumultuous night: "Having everyone get together and such a final celebration [is what I remember]."

Romeo went big for his prom. "My senior prom, I remember I pulled up in my red Ferrari. I was feeling like James Bond," he said. "And it was one of the best nights of my life."

"My favorite prom memory was probably going shopping for a dress, and our boyfriends at the time dressed up as 'Dumb & Dumber,' " Audrina Patridge laughed. "And so we were like, 'We can't dress up dorky ... we have to look good.' " Emilie de Ravin

Roots drummer ?uestlove made a big decision on the night of his prom: "June 2, 1989, was my very last haircut; prom haircut, totally butchered my hair. He butchered my hair, and I vowed never again to ever get in a barber chair, so I grew that Afro on my prom night."

Adam Lambert said his prom date was a 10, so he definitely had a fun night. "I had a great prom. I had an awesome time," he said. "I went with one of my best friends in high school. Her name was Lauren, and she was really hot. She wore a really hot red dress, so I felt like I had arm candy."

Lady Gaga Pal Lady Starlight Recalls Their Bargain Costume Days

'We stuck to the dollar bin and panties,' Gaga confidant tells MTV News of their old-school creative crafts.
By James Dinh, with additional reporting by James Montgomery

If there's one way to pay homage to Lady Gaga , it's by dressing up as the pop phenomenon in one of her many signature costumes. Little Garcelle Beauvais Monsters did just that when MTV News invited a select few to our studios to watch "Lady Gaga: The After-Show," our special live stream on Thursday night, where, following the airing of "Lady Gaga: Inside the Outside," we spoke with a few of the entertainer's close friends and collaborators.

From Gaga's one-of-a-kind red-laced VMA look to the barely-there hazard-tape outfit from the "Telephone" video, Little Monsters came decked out in their own Gaga gear. Among Mother Monster's close confidants, one who knows a thing or two about crafting outfits from scraps includes her Brooke Burns longtime friend Lady Starlight .

After admitting that she just visited Michaels the other day, Starlight told MTV News' James Montgomery about their bargain-bin costume days. "Well, we didn't basically have any money, so we'd go to the dollar store," she said via Skype. "We didn't go to the $2 bin because that was too expensive. We stuck to the dollar bin of panties."

With a few crafts in hand, the duo went to craft store M&J Trimming and picked up the tool that held the outfit together — literally. "We would take this thing called Gem-Tac, and we literally would have it in our bags in case anything went wrong or we needed to make a costume on the fly," she said, adding, "Gem-Tack, dollar panties, something shiny — done."

Asked if Gaga has changed as a person or an artist since experiencing fame, Starlight was quick to deny any difference, citing the "fact that she can be friends with the same people that she was friends with before she was famous."

Lady Starlight was the center of one story during the MTV Lady Gaga documentary , which described one of their many shows at the Lower East Side's Rockwood Music Hall in New York.

"This was, like, super-inexpensive, but nobody on the Lower East Side was doing anything even remotely like it," Gaga says of her early performance show sets. "In fact, it was kind of uncool to be doing it, so it Charli Baltimore became cool because we were the only people doing anything like it. We would plug in all these crazy party favors, and we would throw glitter, and we would dance in these matching bikinis that cost us $4 to make. I got dubplates pressed in Brooklyn with my beats on them, so [Lady Starlight] would spin the dubplates."

What is your favorite Lady Gaga outfit? Tell us in the comments.

'X-Men: First Class': Meet The Mutants

James McAvoy, Kevin Bacon and more of the film's stars lead us through this new batch of X-Men.

With "X-Men: First Class" being the fourth "X-Men" film released this decade, you might think you know a thing or two about our favorite friendly (and not-so-friendly) neighborhood mutants, but the latest installment of the franchise, out Friday (June 3), is here to prove you wrong.

MTV News caught up with the stars of the summer blockbuster recently, and they were more than willing to clear up any preconceived notions we might have had about their characters.

"Professor Charles Xavier, when we meet him, is actually Dr. Charles Xavier, but he becomes a professor during the course of the movie," James McAvoy clarified. "His power is he can read, bend and manipulate your mind, and his relationship with Erik [a.k.a. Magneto] is probably the closest relationship he's ever had."

"Erik Lehnsherr-slash-Magneto, he is ruthless, intelligent, charming and adaptable," Michael Fassbender teased.

Jennifer Lawrence explained how her character, Raven Darkholme/ Mystique, is connected to the two main men. "Magneto Heidi Klum to her is kind of this iconic man that's kind of the crush that she's always had and she admires him very much. And Charles [Xavier] has always been like a brother to her," Lawrence said.

There are quite a few new characters to add to the mix as well, most notably Kevin Bacon as bad guy Sebastian Shaw, the head of the Hellfire Club.

"My power is to be able to absorb energy and harness it and throw it back at whoever is trying to use that energy against me," Bacon explained to MTV.

Then there's Emma Frost, played by January Jones, who is Shaw's right-hand woman. "Her powers are twofold," Jones explained. "She has the mental capacity to read minds or control them, and then also, physically, she can change into a diamond form, which makes her physically indestructible."

Some other new characters are Zoe Kravitz's Angel Salvadore, a go-go dancer who is able to sprout wings, and Lucas Till's Adrianne Ashley Greene Palicki Havoc, a liability who has no control over the beams he can sprout from his body.

You can bet there are plenty more mutants that join the first class, but you'll have to meet them on your own in theaters now.

Check out everything we've got on "X-Men: First Class."

LOS ANGELES — Britney Spears makes headlines at concerts, even when she's not performing. That's probably why Los Angeles radio station KIIS FM tapped the pop princess to guest-host their annual Wango Tango music festival along with Ryan Seacrest on Saturday night at the Staples Center.

The bill was a balance of pop and hip-hop, with acts like Ke$ha, Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, Ne-Yo, Selena Gomez, "Glee" 's Matthew Morrison, Lupe Fiasco, T-Pain, Jason Derülo, Far East Movement, New Boyz, Cobra Starship and newcomer Cody Simpson.

Backstage, the media room went into a frenzy when Spears arrived in a red, geometric-print dress and a beaming smile. Owning her "femme fatale" moniker, Spears worked the carpet for a few moments while all of the cameras in the room were pointing at her. It was the second red carpet appearance by Brit this week, after her Beverly Hills benefit on Wednesday night for the St. Bernard Project .

Check out photos from Wango Tango 2011.

Spears' Femme Fatale collaborator Ke$ha, who was returning to the festival for the second time, said that an onstage collab between to the two would have to require one thing.

"That would have to include me finding her and attacking her," Ke$ha told MTV News, with the Eliza Dushku best intentions. "I'm planning on pouncing her."

While that never happened, at least not onstage, Ke$ha delivered on her promise of a set heavy on her glitter gun. And she assured us she knew the dos and don'ts of handling that kind of firepower.

"Do not spray Drew Barrymore yourself in the face with it," she said. "Do spray everybody else with it. That's pretty much it."

While Joe Jonas wasn't performing at the show, he took a break from recording his solo debut to catch up with almost everyone backstage.

"I didn't see Britney backstage, just said 'hello' to a couple of my friends," Jonas said. "Backstage is always [full of] people, especially having it at the Staples Center this time, I think compared to all Carol Jennifer Garner Grow the way out in the desert, it changes everything."

Also happy to have Wango Tango in Los Angeles were locals Far East Movement.

"Man, we grew up literally a few blocks away from here, and you can only imagine basketball games being played here," Kev Nish said. "So to come in here as performers, to be able to do our songs in this arena is a little crazy. We used to pass out CDs a few blocks [away], so we're very thankful. And the lineup is nuts, so we're extremely excited to be a part of this lineup."

Coldplay, Led Zeppelin Album Covers Featured On New British Stamps

Photo: Royal Mail

On Thursday (January 7), the U.K.'s Royal Mail unveiled a series of 10 new stamps, honoring the most iconic album covers of the past 40 years.

The albums featured in the new series are the Rolling Stones ' Let It Bleed, Led Zeppelin 's IV, David Bowie 's The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars, Mike Oldfield 's Tubular Bells, The Clash 's London Calling, New Order 's Power, Corruption and Lies, Primal Scream 's Screamadelica, Pink Floyd 's The Division Bell, Blur 's Parklife and — the most recent album on to make the cut — Coldplay 's A Rush of Blood to the Head.

Meant to honor "the most potent graphic images of modern times, many of which have provided a visual soundtrack to people's lives," the series is the end result of a lengthy research process by the Royal Mail, who looked through thousands of album covers by British artists before deciding on the final list. And, during a Wednesday night BBC Radio broadcast, it was revealed that the queen herself actually approved each design.

Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page — who helped design the cover for IV — was on hand to celebrate the release of the stamps and recalled the mysterious nature of the album's iconic imagery.

"Almost 40 years after the album came out, nobody knows the old man who featured on the cover, nor the artist who painted him," he said. "That sort of sums up what we wanted to achieve with the album cover, which has remained both anonymous and enigmatic at the same time."

Of course, any great honor is befitting of an equally great contest, so, on the same day the stamps were made available to the general public, Coldplay decided to give one of their Rush of Blood stamps away. Brittny Gastineau In a message on their official site, the band Ana Ivanka Trump Beatriz Barros held a contest to send one lucky fan "a letter using a Coldplay stamp, postmarked with today's issue date."

"We visited our local post office earlier today and bought some of the Coldplay stamps," the message read. "Very nice they are too."

'Glee' Season Finale Exclusive: Listen To 'Yeah!' Here

An a cappella girl group covers Usher's hit for Nationals in next week's episode.
By Aly Semigran

During this week's episode of "Glee" , the gang from New Directions took a big risk when they decided they would compete in Nationals by singing their own original songs. Well, the stakes just got a little higher.

MTV News has an exclusive first listen to one of the rival groups who will go up against the McKinley High glee club in New York City during next Tuesday's (May 24) big season two finale. In the upcoming episode, an all-female a cappella group sings Usher 's 2004 club and radio smash "Yeah!," which may have the Nationals judges saying just that.

Singers replace Amanda Bynes synthesizers for the four-note melody that repeats throughout the song, and lead vocalists RaVaughn Brown and Missi Hale match the high energy that Usher, Lil Jon and Ludacris brought to the track.

Granted, a few things have been tweaked in the version for the tween-friendly show, including the length (the original is over four minutes long, while the "Glee" version comes in at three and a half minutes) and the tune's instructions to "Take that and rewind it back ... got the rhythm make ya booty go."

Also, instead of Ludacris' verse, "We want a lady in the street/ And a freak in the bed," one girl sings, "You know you want a kiss on the lips, old red." The line, "Ludacris fill cups like double D's" has also been cut from the song.

But, it's not all PG. At one point in the girls' rendition of the track, Deanna Russo they page homage to Lil Jon's crunk hit "Get Low," singing, "From the windows to the walls" and even Mystikal's booty-happy single "Shake Ya Ass," when they urge, "Show me whatcha' workin' with."

At the 2005 Amerie Grammy Awards , the power trio of Usher, Lil Jon and Ludacris won the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for "Yeah!" But, will the song bring the same sort of fortune to this girl group at Nationals? Or will the glory all belong to New Directions this time? Gleeks will still have to wait a few more days to find out.

The "Glee" season finale airs Tuesday at 9 p.m. on Fox, while "Glee": The Music, Volume 6, including the three new original songs "Light Up the World," "Pretending" and "As Long as You're There," will be available on Monday.

What do you think of this a cappella group's version of "Yeah!"? Let us know in the comments section below!

Emma Stone And Bryce Dallas Howard Bond Over 'Spider-Man' Role

New Gwen Stacy says 'it was pretty great to be together' on 'The Help' set when she learned the casting news.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, California — In a weird twist of fate, Emma Stone found out she'd be playing Gwen Stacy in the latest installment Amanda Swisten of "Spider-Man" while on the set of "The Help" co-starring the previous franchise's Gwen, Bryce Dallas Howard.

"I found out while I was on set of 'The Help,' " she said about the Andrew Garfield-starring Angelina Jolie "Amazing Spider-Man" during "The Help" Q&A session for MTV's Sneak Peek Week. "It was pretty great to be together for that."

Howard said she was almost as excited about the casting as Stone was. "Representing as redheads!" she proclaimed onstage in front of an excited crowd at the Pacific Design Center. "I'm one of those people that goes online and reads gossip about movies, so pretty early on, there was some buzz," she said, adding that she stormed into Stone's trailer the minute she heard the news. "I was stoked."

With so much buzz about the new "Spider-Man" film, it seems that Stone will be just as surprised as fans to see the flick.

"I've seen nothing, I promise. I've seen small action sequences for the 3-D, and it looked terrible," she joked. "I really haven't seen [anything]."

So what did Stone do to research the role of Gwen — besides leaning on Howard for her first-hand account, of course.

"I read a pretty comprehensive 'Death of the Stacys' book ... and it's a really amazing book to learn the story of Captain Stacy and Gwen Stacy," she said. "And I've read a various amount of comics."

Justin Bieber joined Ernie Halter onstage to perform Halter's "Come Home to Me" (off his album Franklin & Vermont) on Thursday night in Costa Mesa, California. When Halter got on the phone with MTV News bright and early Friday (May 20) morning, he was still reeling from the experience.

"I still can't wrap my brain around it. It's bizarre," he told us. "I was really impressed with how humble and very sweet him and Selena [Gomez] were to me. They're both incredibly nice people. It's pretty crazy."

He then described how Bieber ended up taking the stage with him. "Well, I mean, him coming to the show, I don't know why I didn't see that coming. I just didn't. I guess I'm slow, but I had no idea until I actually saw him and Selena. I went probably mentally not there for a minute or two.

"I was at the gig last night, which is not close to L.A. at all. He really wanted to go and then I'm talking to someone and out of the corner of my eye I look over and that really looks a lot like Selena Gomez," he continued. "I looked to see who she was with and I went speechless for a couple minutes. I asked him [to perform with me] and he said yes. It was a little bit of a surprise because I didn't think he would do it."

With Bieber's blessing hitting Twitter, the Internet is quickly following Aubrey ODay and Halter's Internet stock is rising. "I have a tweet deck on my computer and it flashes every second [now] and there's no way I would have been Brittny Gastineau able to envision that," he said. "It's ridiculous. It's ridiculously awesome."

While Bieber has made it clear he's a fan of Halter, is Halter a fan of Bieber?

"Entirely [I get it]. I've been a fan and I really believe he's extremely talented," he said, explaining that his 3-year-old son got him into the Biebs. "The type of reach that he has worldwide is really iconic, on a level that we haven't really seen. I think he's very, very talented."

Michael Jackson Doctor's Trial Delayed

Judge pushes start of Conrad Murray's trial back to May.
By Gil Kaufman

LOS ANGELES — Though Conrad Murray's lawyers had been pressing for a speedy trial, a judge in the involuntary manslaughter case against Michael Jackson's doctor ruled on Wednesday Ashley Tappin to delay opening statements in the proceedings until May.

The Associated Press reported that Murray's attorneys consented to the postponement after they discussed the matter with prosecutors and both agreed they could be ready Ciara for trial by May 9.

According to a transcript from the closed-door session, though opening statements will not begin for several months, Murray told Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor that he did not want to forfeit his right to a quick trial, but agreed to the delay if screening of prospective jurors begins as scheduled on March 24.

"It is only acceptable to me if this is not strung along over a long period of time," Murray told the justice. "I don't want to lose my constitutional right to speedy trial." Murray — who has pleaded not guilty to the charges — reportedly has been in favor of having the proceedings begin as soon as possible because he is facing financial troubles, but he said he understands that the delay is necessary to allow both Christina Applegate sides to prepare for the trial.

Pastor consented because he said he didn't want to lose a jury pool, and believed a month-long delay might let potential jurors shuffle their schedules for the case, which could take up to two months to decide. The judge has reportedly clashed with Murray's defense team in recent weeks, pressing them for answers about why they had not turned over more witness notes and other potential evidence to prosecutors in the run-up to the trial.

Cardiologist Murray was hired Charlize Theron to be Jackson's personal physician while the King of Pop prepared for his planned 50-date comeback series of shows at London's O2 arena in the summer of 2009. The doctor told police that he provided the then-50-year-old Jackson with sedatives and the surgical anesthetic propofol in order to combat the singer's chronic insomnia. He said he did so on the morning of June 25, 2009, when Jackson died of what a coroner deemed acute propofol poisoning.

Murray's lawyers reportedly plan to argue that Jackson was already in weak health before he died, that it's unfair to blame propofol for his passing and that, if the anesthetic was to blame, the pop superstar may have given himself the fatal dose by drinking the drug in a panic.

A status hearing in the case has been set for this Wednesday.

Lady Gaga 'Started To Cry' When She First Heard 'Marry The Night'

'Imagine if Bruce Springsteen Emmanuelle Chriqui had a baby with Whitney Houston — that's what it is,' she says of Fernando Garibay-produced Born This Way track.
By MTV News staff

Lady Gaga
Photo: MTV News

Lady Gaga Ashanti has been working with producer Fernando Garibay for years, with the first fruits of their labor being the Fame Monster deep cut "Dance in the Dark." But, as Lady Gaga put it in MTV's "Inside the Outside" documentary that premiered Thursday, the pair had yet to "conceive" a hit record when she began work on Born This Way.

That all changed when Gaga heard the church-bell-filled sounds Garibay had concocted while on the road for the Monster Ball Tour.

"He goes, 'Your show is a religion and your fans are a cult,' " Gaga recalled. "It's this epic music. It's just so big. And I started to cry. He said, 'What's wrong?' And I said, 'I can't believe that you hear me so big.' "

Gaga sat down, and lyrics for what would become the Born This Way track "Marry the Night" just started pouring out: "I'm gonna marry the night/ I won't give up on my life."

"It's like Whitney, but imagine if Bruce Springsteen had a baby with Whitney Houston — that's what it is," she said. "And that was it! We made a baby. Finally. After all that fornication, miserably long and tedious, Fernando and I finally conceived."

When MTV News sat down with Garibay, he told his side of the "Marry the Night" conception. "I just kind of got on the American leg of the tour — this was after Australia — Aubrey ODay and she goes, 'I want to write another song that can define where I'm at with this album and my life.' "

So Garibay listened again to their first collaboration, "Dance in the Dark," and tried to top that energy. "I remember being backstage and hearing the concert start, so I go out there and hear 'Dance in the Dark' open up the whole concert, and I wanted to outdo that feeling. I wanted to outdo that moment that opens up the show. I'm just that way."

Garibay did his thing while Gaga was onstage doing hers. "I go back to the studio bus; I'm just like working on parts, Claudette Ortiz working on parts, and then, two hours later, she comes offstage, and she goes, 'Do you have something to play me?' " he said. "And I go, 'I do, actually. It's a little different, but I think you'll like it.'

"So I played her the instrumental for 'Marry the Night,' and she goes, 'I love it, but can you change this?' So she starts changing around a few chords, and then she goes, 'Open up a mic.' ... She starts laying down the whole song, like, off the cuff. She didn't have time to live with it. She kind of meditated a few minutes, and then it's like, 'OK, I'm ready. Let's go.' And right offstage, using the energy of that crowd and going into the studio, it was amazing. I can't compare it to anything."

That incomparable feeling was exactly what Gaga was aiming for with Garibay: "I kept saying to him, 'I don't want to do anything I've done before, I don't want to sound like anything I've done before, I don't want to feel like anything I've done before. I want it to be new.' "
